Morgan appeared in a film about AIDS recognition and treatment, Safe Sex for Men and Women. A portion of the profits went toward the American Foundation for AIDS Research. She serves as a member of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan was the main force behind numerous fund-raising efforts for this disease. She also spoke before an Congressional special committee on AIDS education. Morgan is a member of the board of Governors of APLA. The organization has asked her to fill in for the former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop at AIDS-related events. Steve Bell, a anchor for the news has hosted a AIDS Awareness Special. Ted Koppell has interviewed her twice about AIDS in Nightline. Morgan received the Emmy nomination for her special episode of Murphy Brown written for her by Diane English. This spring, Morgan costarred with Joan Rivers as Your Money or Your Wife on ABC television. Then, she began the season of summer with Murder At The PTA Luncheon produced by Von Zerneck/Sertner. Also, it featured Cindy Williams and Marla gibbs. In her next role, Harmony Gold produced Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady along with Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan played a part in the psychological thriller which was produced exclusively by the USA Network garnering one of the biggest ratings in the history of the network.
